BAR 1661, in association with Bán Poitín, is rebranding 25 of its
signature serve craft cocktails from the ‘Belfast Coffee’ to the ‘Beirut Coffee’ in support of a
bar affected by the blast in the Lebanese capital. Full proceeds from the sale of the bottled
cocktails will go to support the Electric Bing Sutt Bar in Beirut as they rebuild their establishment, which was severely damaged by the blast.

BAR 1661 opened in April 2019 on the corner of Green Street in the heart of Dublin, nestled
amongst the fruit markets off Capel Street. Just six months after opening, it was voted Ireland’s
Best Cocktail Bar by industry peers at the Irish Craft Cocktail Awards 2019. Electric Bing Sutt
Bar is a funky and neon dazzled Asian Middle Eastern all-day bar in the heart of Beirut, and is No.46 in The World’s 50 Best Bars.

Additionally BAR 1661 will be raising funds for the Red Cross in Beirut through their Dream

Drams whiskey tasting service, by selling 50ml serves of exclusive and very special whis-
keys donated by Dingle Whiskey, Glendalough Whiskey, Chapel Gate (JJ Corry) and Dunvil-
les Irish Whiskey. Full proceeds will go to the Red Cross, through Irish charity The Scoop Foundation and can be bought via bar1661.ie.

Bán Poitín and a number of other Irish brands are stocked throughout Lebanon thanks to a
trade mission by International Distributors Ireland Craft Beverages in 2018, which included Dave Mulligan, founder of Bar 1661 and Bán Poitín.

Mulligan commented “While we all come to terms with the gravity of what has happened to the
Lebanese capital, and it’s a drop in the ocean for the scale of the rebuild effort in Beirut, BAR
1661 has always had the power of community at its heart, and we are proud to rebrand our
‘Belfast Coffee’ the ‘Beirut Coffee’ to do what we can to support our brothers and sisters in our industry.”

The ‘Belfast Coffee’ is the house drink at BAR 1661, a cold-brewed poitín version of the classic
Irish coffee. Earthy, luxurious, and bittersweet this is the next classic Irish cocktail for the
modern-day drinker and has gained international notoriety in bars from Texas to Tokyo.
Limited to 25 bottles, the ‘Beirut Coffee’ is available to order exclusively from bar1661.ie for
€30, with full proceeds to Electric Bing Sutt Bar in Beirut. Serving 6, it contains Bán Poitín,
1661 Cold Brew Coffee and Demerara and is served with cream and nutmeg.
Handmade by the award-winning bar team in Dublin 7, BAR 1661’s bottled Craft Cocktails use
premium spirits and only natural ingredients. They are chemical-free and are made using fresh
fruits and spices, made to just pour and serve. The full range of Craft Cocktails are available
from bar1661.ie, with nationwide delivery. Launching during lockdown, they are now stocked in
over a dozen retailers including Fresh Supermarkets, Molloys Liquor Stores, Mitchell and Son
Wines, decentdrinksclub.com, celticwhiskeyshop.com, stationtostationwine.ie and
