The first “Caipirinha Month” is happening throughout Ireland this summer. The Embassy of Brazil in Ireland, in association with Fubá Cachaça and its distributor Dalcassian Wines & Spirits, are bringing together the best cocktail bars in Ireland on a month long celebration of Brazil’s quintessential cocktail, Caipirinha.
Selected bars will engage with the Irish public through social media, events, competitions and Brazilian music evenings taking place throughout the month of August. Caipirinhas are prepared with the Brazilian sugarcane spirit Cachaça, lime, sugar and ice, but variants would include a multitude of other fresh fruit and flavours. Whilst the Caipirinha cocktail has achieved certain notoriety internationally, (in Germany, for example, it has been voted the cocktail of the year on several occasions), it remains somewhat overlooked in Ireland. The first edition of Caipirinha Month Ireland was conceived to introduce savvy Irish drinkers to a fresh alternative to your run-of-the-mill G&T.#
