Estrella Damm has once again been announced as the official beer partner and sponsor of Food on the Edge 2018. This announcement marks the second year of partnership between Estrella Damm and the annual food symposium, which returns to Galway this October 22nd and 23rd 2018.
The Food on the Edge event is a coming-together of top international chefs for a two-day Food Symposium in Galway city. Fifty chefs, chosen for their innovation, passion and influence on today’s food culture, will descend on Galway for the two-day event to share their vision for the future of food. The main theme of the 2018 event is ‘Conversations’ and its aim is to promote “conversations amongst peers, amongst mentors and their mentees, conversations about challenges and opportunities and of course, the conversations that take place over the dinner table”, according to JP McMahon, Food on The Edge symposium director.
The partnership with Food on the Edge once again reinforces Estrella Damm’s commitment to linking gastronomy with great beer. Estrella Damm seeks to celebrate beer’s place as the ideal beverage for pairing or cooking with food and dishes and has a strong existing relationship with the culinary world, as demonstrated by the Estrella Damm Gastronomy Congresses, a concept invented by the brand to bring together many of the world’s best chefs to experience demonstrations and discussions around food. Chefs who have participated include Ferran Adrià, the Roca brothers, José Pizarro, Tom Kerridge and many more. They have previously taken place in Miami, Lisbon, Melbourne, London, Edinburgh, Manchester and Greece.
Distributed exclusively in Ireland by Molson Coors, Estrella Damm is brewed in Barcelona using the original 1876 recipe and 100% natural ingredients: barley malt, rice and hops. The quality of the ingredients is of utmost importance to the brewers who source barley from local farmers and use rice grown in the Spanish Ebro Delta. Estrella Damm also owns its own Malthouse and produces its own yeast which is used in the beers fermentation process.
