Fifteen VFI members have been shortlisted for this years KNORR Great Carvery competition. After strong entries from the length and breadth of the four provinces, the 2018 KNORR Great Carvery competition will crown winners in two categories – Great Carvery Hotel of the Year and KNORR Great Carvery Pub of the Year.

Speaking about this year’s competition, Jim Reeves, Customer Director at Unilever Food Solutions said: “At Unilever Food Solutions, we believe that establishments should be applauded for striving to achieve excellent customer service, quality of ingredients and attention to detail. The KNORR Great Carvery of the Year Competition provides a platform for carveries to showcase their very best to a local and indeed national audience.”

The shortlisted nominees will receive a visit from the team of mystery diners to determine who serves the best carvery in the chosen pubs and hotels in each province. Provincial pub and hotel winners will be announced on the 10th September, followed by the crowning of the overall KNORR Great Carvery Hotel and KNORR Great Carvery Pub of the Year titles on the 21st September.

There are prizes to be won by venues at each stage from shortlisted nominees, provincial winners and overall winners.  The overall pub and hotel winners will receive; 200,000 worth of UFS Chef Reward Points, a Wüsthof 7 Piece Silverpoint Roll Set, a special plaque and framed certificate to promote the win front of house and a chef jacket.
